What is Laser Vision Correction?

Laser vision correction is a surgical procedure that uses a precise beam of light to gently reshape the cornea—the eye’s outer surface—to improve vision. The laser removes microscopic layers of tissue to flatten the cornea (to correct nearsightedness), steepen it (to correct farsightedness), or smooth out irregularities (to correct astigmatism). What to Expect on the Day of Treatment

LASIK is an outpatient procedure, meaning you’ll spend about an hour at the surgeon’s office and leave shortly after. You will need someone to drive you home, as your vision may be blurry immediately after surgery.
